Tiamet Communications, LLC. is a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP). With Tiamet, you get Internet speeds up to 50 times faster than a typical dial-up connection. How does a wireless internet connection work?
Tiamet Communications is constructing transmission towers that "beam" a high speed Internet signal to your home or business. Your computer receives this signal via a small antenna that either sits on your desk, or is mounted outside your home or business. Although the signal is wireless, all transmissions are encrypted to ensure your privacy.

How fast is Tiamet Communication's service?
Connection speed is up to 50 times faster than a typical dial-up connection. This speed is the same in both directions - downloads and uploads. Network speeds vary by plan, location and are also affected by local factors such as your computer’s CPU speed and operating system configuration.

Do I have to put an ugly satellite dish on my roof?
No, our technology uses a small, flat-panel antenna for external installations. In some instances we may have to install a Yagi to obtain reliable service.

What are the minimum system requirements for service?
Using our service requires no special software. Any computer with a 10 or 100 Base-T ethernet network card and the capability to support TCP/IP and DHCP will do. You may use your choice of browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Does this service use my current phone line?
No. Our service will never tie up your phone line. With our service you can talk on the phone and use the Internet at the same time. No more missed calls while surfing the Web. What’s more, your connection is “always on” – no need to wait for a connection.

No. Tiamet Communications, LLC. is your ISP. Unlike many broadband providers, we do not charge an additional fee for ISP services - it’s all included in one low monthly fee.

Yes. You can connect multiple computers. There is no additional monthly service charge for this service, however, some form of router will be needed to share your IP address. Ask a Tiamet Communications, LLC. representative about our line of inexpensive firewalls and routers.

Can you "Host" my domain?
Yes. One of the many features available with Tiamet Communications, LLC. service is "domain" hosting (www.yourname.com). The size allowed and type of server(s) for hosting varies by package. Additional charges apply—please call us for details.

Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes. The "contract" explains Our and Your obligations regarding the service and equipment. All we ask is that you try our service for a period of 90 days.

Is there a fee if I cancel the service?
There is no early termination penalty, however, you must pay for services through the date of termination.

How do I pay for my account?
For your convenience, Tiamet Communications, LLC. currently accepts payment by cash, Visa, MasterCard, or direct debit to your checking account. Invoices can be mailed or e-mailed to corporate accounts.

What type of e-mail is offered?
Both POP3 and Web based e-mail access are provided. WebMail is a product that allows you to check your e-mail from any computer; home, work, or anywhere that has any type of Internet access.

Yes. Additional e-mail addresses are available at an additional charge.

Is there an e-mail box size limit?
Yes, 20 Mb. We recommend using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for businesses transferring many large files.
